Honors in Business Association (HiBA) is a student organization formed between the Honors Program and the School of Business. Honors in Business Association is built upon the fundamentals of academics, research, leadership, professionalism, engagement and community. Through these fundamentals, the organization strives to create a sense of community for students in Honors, the School of Business and students with an interest in business by connecting with other students across majors and class years.

Students participate in various social and pre-professional events as it relates to being a business student in the Honors Program. The organization’s events allow students to demonstrate and develop skills necessary to succeed in today’s business world all while building a strong alumni network.

Honors in Business Association is a partner organization of both the Business Leadership Council and Honors Student Leadership Collaborative.

History of Honors in Business Association

Since its founding, Honors in Business Association has been host to some of the university’s top students in business attracting companies such as Google and Accenture. Honors in Business Association was founded in February 2014 by Brooke Wasserman (BUS ’15), Allyson Roach (BUS ’16) and Quian Callender (BUS ’16) as a response to the need for business programming for Honors students as well as strengthening the Honors community within the School of Business. The creation of Honors in Business Association was the result of many months of planning with both Honors Program and School of Business staff.

In its first year as a student organization, Honors in Business Association experienced tremendous membership growth as well as provided undergraduates with invaluable programming. See previous events.
